Do you like to write? Are you interested in being a part of our school's newspaper? Well, Journalism club is looking for you. Come to an informational meeting next Wednesday at 7:30 in room A310 to learn about journalism club for second semester. Contact Ms. Alore with any questions.
Hey Friendship Club members. We are going to be having a plan meeting after school tomorrow in room D-181 to plan our January event. Hope to see everyone there.
Hey DGS Changemakers! Our next large group meeting will take place during your assigned lunch period on January 12th in the library classroom. Come alone or bring a friend. We are going to plan some school-wide activities for February! See you then!
Athletics
Calling all superfans, the D99 hoops pack the place is tomorrow! There will be 3 games starting at 5:45 PM and the theme is a blackout! Come support your special olympic athletes and bring the noise!
The New Year is here so what better thing to do than clean out those closets and drawers!! Our DGS Girls Basketball program will be collecting soft goods for our Savers fundraiser on Saturday, January 15th from 9AM-11:30AM. Drop off will be outside the athletic entrance. If you can't make
it that day, Coach Long will collect your items beforehand. Email Lyndsie Long with any questions!
Congrats to the Freshmen Wrestling team on their 3rd place finish at the DGS Freshmen Tournament this past Saturday, top 4 finishers at their weight classes included: 4th Place- Dominic Rostis, Alex Moore, Anthony Newsome, Domantas Pranskus, Matthew Jacobs, & Jack Rossi, 3rd place- Ronnie Graf, 2nd Place- Angel Negron, Josh Davison, Tyler Balsamo- CHAMPION Drew Woolsey. How strong? SOUTHSTRONG!
Congrats to the JV Wrestling team for their 3rd place finish out of 16 teams at the Bolingbrook JV Tournament. Top place-winners included: 2nd Place- JJ Kutella, TJ Johnson, Justin Taylor and Champions Deon Davis & Sam Price. How strong? SOUTHSTRONG!!!
Congrats to the Girls Wrestlers who placed in the top 3 at the Schaumburg High School tournament this past Saturday! 3rd place finishers included Ariana Reyna and Azaria Alexander, and sophomore Gracie Swiercyznski was the champion in her bracket! How strong? SOUTHSTRONG!!!
The Track & Field season officially starts in one week. The Boys Team will have an informational meeting in the cafeteria today after school. If you are currently in a winter sport and cannot attend the meeting email Coach Senf for more information.
