BISMARCK, N.D. – “The Fargo Fire of 1893,” a presentation and book signing with author and journalist Danielle Teigen, will be presented at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23, at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. The event is free and open to the public.
Teigen will discuss how a ferocious fire irrevocably changed the landscape of Fargo on June 7, 1893. More than 30 city blocks were devoured in a matter of hours. An intense rebuilding effort followed, allowing the city to emerge once again from the prairie through sheer perseverance and grit.
Teigen is a professional communicator and the managing editor of a Forum Communications parenting magazine. In addition to “The Fargo Fire of 1893,” she has also authored “Hidden History of Fargo.” Teigen will be available to sign books following the presentation. Participants can bring their own books or purchase them at the event.
