A Great Start to 2022
Thank you!
For Giving Tuesday, we unveiled our new Go Fund Me Campaign where we announced that we will need to raise $200,000 in 2022 to be able to meet our financial obligations and balance our budget. Thanks to you, we are off to a great start with $5,679.75 raised so far. Thank you for this tremendous showing of support.
It’s a great start and we would like to thank everyone who has donated and made it possible for us to pay our utility bills in November and December, to have the air ducts cleaned throughout the Warehouse building, to replace the shower room door at the Veterans Dorm, and to have the elevator at the dorm inspected (required by law).
Your donations in 2021 made it possible for veterans to take free art classes, for youth to learn dance at Reigning Motion Dance, for children to experience summer camp with exercise at Jump-A-Rama, and a daily art project at D & M Art Studio. Your support in 2021 made it possible for us to commemorate Juneteenth with a teen photography exhibit that explored what it is like to grow up African-American in 21st Century America. Thanks to you, we were able to hold 14 different community events including outdoor concerts, art sales, Henna Fest, the Halloween Stroll, and Christmas in the Village.
We have another exciting year planned, but we can’t keep our buildings maintained and make all of these classes and events happen without the financial support of people like you.
In addition to events and activities, 2021 was the year of extensive repairs that were needed at the Veterans Dormitory. This historic building was the home of four disabled veterans in 2021, but we were constantly making necessary repairs to just about everything: the shower, the kitchen faucet, air conditioning, thermostat, garbage disposal, and then the roof started leaking. Now we are faced with completely replacing the roof estimated at $20,000 plus damaged ceilings, the light fixtures, and electrical. We really need the community to come together and help us reach this critical need to literally keep a roof over our disabled veterans’ heads.
This large fundraising campaign is not just the Go Fund Me campaign. If you are not comfortable with using the Go Fund Me platform, supporters can click here to make a donation via our website.
Or donors can send us a check made payable to the Partnership for the Arts and Humanities at 50755 Cherry Hill Rd. Suite 10, Canton, MI 48188.
We understand that not everyone is in a position at this time to make a donation. Sharing our fundraising campaign on your social media channels is also a great way to contribute to the effort. Please help us spread the word so that we can reach more people and make 2022 a success.
