Asking for your Prayer, with much to share!

December 30, 2021

As we say good-bye to 2021, we are writing to solicit your prayer covering for us.

Dinner Date

This evening we will have our weekly "Grandpa, Grandma and Emery Dinner Date" (she's now 4 years old!) - and then a sleep-over. We cherish our time with her so much!

The Wrist

Tomorrow, I (Debbie) go in for an MRI on my right wrist and forearm to see what is causing the swelling, strange bumps, with numbness, tingling and pain there and in my fingers. This has been progressing for many months, and we

would love a diagnosis and solution! I have begun taking extra vitamin B complex and an additional supplement for nerve health to help with the nephropathy, and think it may be helping some. Pray!

Serving in Debriefing

Saturday morning after a quick New Years Day celebration with friends, we drive to the airport and fly to warm (at least warmer!) Mesa, AZ. We will be debriefing a couple who have come home from a term of service in South America. We have been reviewing and preparing all week. This is our first time to walk workers through the Le Rusher “Exchange at the Cross” debriefing material, and we are excited to see how the Lord will work! It is both humbling and an honor to be able to do this. Much prayer covering is welcome!! We begin Sunday night and will end on Friday morning. Please pray that this couple will be helped and blessed by this and that our time with their hosts and ours would also be sweet.

Giving a ride

We are also planning to help a friend get to the airport Saturday for a flight at the same time as ours. She is relocating to Houston TX, so logistics could be interesting with lots of luggage and a sedan to get all three of us there. We

will meet her at Saturday’s brunch and should know sometime tomorrow about the luggage situation. Prayers for this are also appreciated.

Once we return from next week's debriefing, we will resume the Disciplemaking Bootcamp which we lead on Wednesday Nights. Please pray!

A second debriefing?

We also have a second debriefing time penciled in for the end of the month in Kansas City. We would drive down and spend the week there. Please pray the Lord would confirm this week as His plan for us and the couple!

Christmas 2021

It was really fun to have Christmas Eve here in our new rental! We decorated cookies, went to church and then brought in Chinese food for Dinner with the

three Cedar Rapids Mason families. Christmas day was spent at our youngest son and daughter-in-law’s home. All of the Iowa residents were there except Katie. She and her room-mate are recovering from being sick, so we all dropped off food and gifts, and they had a quiet and restful Christmas day.

I was sad to have to take down the Christmas tree yesterday. It was our first real one since we sold the house, and we really enjoyed it! It was beautiful! Unfortunately it had gotten really dry and with us being gone next week we thought it was safest to just take it down. The part of decorating, enjoying and un-decorating I enjoy the most is thinking about and remembering all the

people and memories that the ornaments represent. The many gifts, places visited, and special family sentimental and old ones. Thank you to all of you who over the years have blessed us with special ornaments and decorations for Christmas. I think of you all so often because of them! This is our time to pray for you!

The Jitters

The supplement that I have been taking for anxiety is really helping to control the jitters and emotional symptoms. I can tell it’s helping, because if I go too long between doses the symptoms return! I am so grateful for this. Please continue to pray for my anxiety to heal, and thank you for your prayers so far!

Perspectives - a quick look. (Video)

On the horizon for next month, we will drive to Omaha and Lincoln NE to teach Lesson Five of the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement. (click on "Week 5" to see us!)  In this lesson, we look at Acts and the letters, to see how the Lord exploded the Hebrew culture off of the gospel message, and releasing the gospel for all peoples to embrace Jesus, the savior for their redemption! Teaching Perspectives is also a first for us, and we are very excited! Please pray as we continue to prepare and plan for this. This course is something that we believe the Lord uses greatly to expand the ministry of the gospel to all people groups who still have not had the chance to hear of Jesus and that He died and rose again to save them. Please pray we would be a blessing and encouragement to the classes. Pray the student’s in Omaha and Lincoln will hear from the Lord, and find their place in His great adventure of bringing the nations to Himself!

Covering the costs

As our ministry continues to grow and uses more of our time, we have determined to draw salary from our All Nations support account. Originally our account was to be used for our relocation to Europe, but now that our base is working from the states, we recognize the need to grow our regular monthly support base again. We are thankful for those who faithfully contribute to our ministry!

Would you consider partnering with us financially beginning in 2022? It looks to be a full and exciting year! We hope to travel this summer to visit workers on the field as restrictions lift. Pray that the Lord allows us to meet the colleagues we care for in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, this year!

Finally, thank you to all of you for reading this, for your notes of encouragement and for your prayers and support of us in so many ways.  We love you all, wishing you a Merry Christmas (yes, until Epiphany on January 6!) and Happy New Year. We pray many blessings over you all for 2022.

Brett and Debbie!
