Dear Families, 

We hope this letter finds you and your family well. We are looking forward to welcoming you all back to the J next week.

As a reminder, unvaccinated individuals, including children, who travel either domestically or internationally (domestic travel is considered to be any travel lasting 24 hours or longer to any U.S. states or territories other than Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware) our policy is as follows: 

• A PCR COVID-19 test is required 3-5 days after travel AND unvaccinated individuals must stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel
• Even if result is negative, stay home and self-quarantine for the full 7 days 
• If result is positive the quarantine timeframe is 10 days from date of test
• If not tested, stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel
• A negative PCR result will be required to return to any program 

We are aware that the CDC has updated its guidelines and we have followed them closely in determining the protocols for the J. The new five-day quarantine guidelines apply to those who can keep strict masking in place for an additional five days, a ten-day total process. Although we enforce strict masking, there are times throughout the day where children are unmasked, such as for eating and drinking. Protocols for the general population do not apply to our population with children. We don’t feel there is sufficient data yet in order to support moving to a five-day quarantine. 

If your child is in contact with a positive individual in any of our programs, we will contact you as soon as possible.  

We realize the rules and recommendations for COVID-19 continue to shift at a rapid pace. As such, we have created a flow chart for greater ease in understanding our JCC MetroWest COVID-19 protocols as they relate to our children's programming participants. Please download the flow chart here. We will continue to update this flow chart as needed. 

Please know we are making every effort to ensure our children's programming will open next week - and every day thereafter. However, we ask that you make a plan in the event we are not able to. Please note, the Kids Club schedule is dependent on each individual school district. 

As you know, the current situation is precarious, but we are doing all we can in order to provide quality care for our families with the health and well-being of all in mind.
