ISSIMI Presents: 2021 Sales Highlights

Despite its challenges, 2021 was a remarkable year at ISSIMI, especially considering it's just our fourth full year of operations. These are a few of our favorite sales from the year, not necessarily the most expensive or the rarest cars we sold, but the most interesting in terms of configuration and/or story.

Thank you for making 2021 so successful and we look forward to more in 2022!

1995 McLaren F1

An obsessively maintained, extensively documented, and frequently-driven example of one of the greatest cars ever made.

2011 Ferrari F150

Driven in 13 Grands Prix during the 2011 Formula 1 season by both Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, where it achieved four podiums and one overall win.

2008 Pagani Zonda Roadster F

This highest performance and most developed manual transmission naturally-aspirated Pagani, the Zonda F is massively collectible in all forms, but especially so in superb low mileage roadster form like this car.

1989 Ferrari F40

Originally owned by 1992 Formula 1 World Champion Nigel Mansell and his famous mustache.

2005 Porsche Carrera GT

A superb final-year one-owner Carrera GT with just 1,700 original miles.

2015 Ferrari FXXK

One of the most extreme track focused Ferrari ever made  in its original livery and configuration, was source by the ISSIMI’s European team for an American Customer.

1994 Porsche Turbo S

One of just 17 “package cars” built, this car is a Turbo S without the slantnose treatment and has covered fewer than 9,000 miles.

2019 Porsche Speedster

A beautifully configured Speedster with paint to sample slate grey paintwork and red interior.

2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale

An exceptionally clean collector-owned example with factory stripe, this 360CS highlights how much magic was baked right into Ferrari’s first production sports purpose model.

2012 Lexus LFA

An outstanding example of a rapidly appreciating supercar in the iconic launch livery. Perhaps the best 9,000 RPM ever?

1989 BMS F189 F1

Developed by Dallara for BMS Scuderia Italia, this Cosworth V8-powered F1 car finished 4th at the Monte Carlo Grand Prix driven by Alex Caffi in 1989. Meticulously restored by the technicians who supported it in period, ISSIMI delivered it to its new owner in turnkey condition.

2005 Ford GT

The more time that passes, the better the GT gets. This one had a few subtle upgrades to make it even more magical on the road.

1998 Porsche Carrera 4S

This absolutely extraordinary 993 configuration was applied to a final year air-cooled car with just 12,000 miles. In addition to aero kit, this car has extensive special wishes touches including leather upholstery on the B pillars!

1997 Ferrari F50

Classiche-certified by Ferrari, this F50 was located by ISSIMI’s European team for an American collector who also had us import the car and perform a comprehensive service once it arrived.

2019 McLaren Senna Fina

Custom ordered from McLaren Special Operations with livery to evoke the legendary McLaren F1 GTRs that raced in FINA livery, this Senna was driven as enthusiastically as a car of this capability deserves to be.

ESCAPE on WHEELS
2021 Lamborghini Huracán EVO - Hurricane Huracán

Make no mistake, we live in an awesome era. The 80s are regarded as the “power era” and there’s a good reason for that but… compared to today they really weren’t. Sure indeed, the first true turbocharged supercars made their appearance and pretty much every racing-vehicle was crazy even for today’s standards. Yet…in 2021 the “baby” Lamborghini has 640 hp and scares the hell out of everything and everybody. We live in an era where power keeps creeping up to where it’s almost out of control and fun seems to be taken out of everything.

The Mercedes 300 SEL 6.3 Invented an Entire Genre of Car — BTS with DTS — Ep. 9

Today, it’s a given that there are many sedans available that are as quick as a Porsche 911 or Ferrari. In the 1960s, that idea was so inconceivable that no one had even conceived of conceiving of it. That one should be invented by a company whose reputation was for making trucks and boring cars for old people was all the more shocking, especially considering Mercedes-Benz didn’t even have a sports car of any type in their model line, let alone one whose pace could match a 911 or a 330 GTC. And the damn thing only existed because one engineer made one on his own time and then when the director of production heard it drive by his office late one night, he managed to get the Board of Directors to approve its production, thus creating the searingly fast, understated sedan model which we continue to enjoy to this day. In this video, Derek Tam-Scott recounts the extraordinary story of the 6.3, including its improbable success as a race car, and delivers a surprising verdict about what the car is capable of on the road.
