 Time is a strange creature. With our modern minds, we like to imagine that it is something we can control, shape, and measure.
By the same token, we're pretty sure that it waits for no one. (Scroll to the bottom for a contemplation from a beloved ancestor on the mercurial nature of Time.)
The new year is always a strong reminder of just how squishy Time really is. It actually takes at least a few weeks to turn the wheel of a new year. We've been closing the cycle and preparing for the returning light since Hallowmas, then Winter Solstice, and now the gregorian calendar is making it official.
I recorded a brief meditation to support your transition into the new cycle. I'm sharing it as a gift here. (It's about 10 minutes long -- I hope you can set aside some time today or this week to give yourself the gift of breathing into the change.)
