Wishing you a safe, happy, and healthy start to 2022 from Save the Dells! Through the highs and lows of 2021, our incredible, passionate community of supporters and advocates has helped to keep the focus on the important stuff—working together to secure a better future for people, wildlife, and community. The past 12 months of community wins have set the bar high for the new year, with incredible accomplishments including:
protecting 473.7 acres of Dells land as public Natural Open Space (NOS) through the AED Development Agreement & Annexation,
electing three civic-minded city leaders to the Prescott City Council who will champion open space conservation, sustainable water management, and responsible growth in their decision-making, and
the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) between the City of Prescott and generous private land owners for the purchase of an additional 300 acres of Dells land in the Storm Ranch area below Point of Rocks.
Save the Dells and our partners have big plans to carry this momentum in the new year, to continue working toward a Granite Dells Regional Park & Preserve, and to continue supporting the work of invaluable community organizations like the Granite Dells Preservation Foundation and the Citizens Water Advocacy Group (CWAG) who work to address community and regional issues that impact us all.
STAY TUNED for a special announcement soon about how Save the Dells plans to accomplish this in 2022!
