In the newsletter this month, we'll celebrate another set of amazing community members who recently passed the CDMP, discuss the release of several new products to help you prepare for the Fundamentals and Specialist Exams, outline what's to come in terms of Facebook Group curriculum, share book recommendations from January, and finally wrap up with some information about how heart heath makes your mind more effective.
To get us started, here's some exciting Data Strategy news from last month. Britain just heightened their Data Security by launching its first Government Cyber Security Strategy on Tuesday, January 25th.
This act, funded by a 37.8 million euro investment, is designed to ensure the safety of public services, prevent data breaches, and reduce service disruptions. An important tactical step is retiring legacy IT systems that no longer serve the needs of the public. The plan allows for public contribution through the report of potential cyber incidents and weaknesses.
The UK is now the third most targeted country in terms of data security attacks from hostile states. Between September 2020 and August 2021, an estimated 40% of the 777 incidents detected by UK's National Cyber Security Centre were aimed at the public sector. In the past two years, ransomware attacks impacted British council tax, benefits, and housing programs. Hopefully, the renewed focus on these challenges will substantially prevent similar incidents in the future.

Final Thoughts
February is popularly known as the month for lovers and all things heart-related. It’s also the month when we're turning our attention to how we should look after our heart health.
According to the World Health Organization, Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of death worldwide. In 2019, 32% or an estimated 17.9 million global deaths were caused by CVDs.
You're no doubt already aware of behavioral risk factors to avoid, such as smoking, alcohol, obesity, and inactivity. Incorporating exercise into your lifestyle also promotes a healthy mind. Working up a sweat improves learning and memory skills and delays the effects of both physiological aging and pathological neurodegeneration.
Exercising has been cited as the most transformative thing you can do for your brain, especially with regard to boosting your mood, increasing your reaction time, and generally promoting focus.
Bottom line: an exercise habit will improve your cardiovascular fitness and your mind! Naturally, this gives you an edge when preparing for the CDMP Exams 😉 We're cheering you on every step of the way!!
