It’s hard to believe that January marks my 2 year anniversary as your Director of Missions. I guess what they say is true, “time flies when your having fun”. It’s been my great honor to serve you and our Association during these difficult days.
I’m really excited about all the plans we have made for this upcoming year. The Mission Committee has 3 mission trips planned for this spring and summer, and a mission team coming here in July.
I encourage you to attend our Executive Board Meeting on January 11th at Garrison Baptist as Sheldon Livesay will be speaking. Sheldon is the Director of the “Of One Accord” ministries in Rogersville TN. We will be doing a mission trip there in June and Brother Sheldon will be giving information on the various opportunities to serve.
Please be in prayer for Dayton First and Clear Creek as they search for Senior Pastors.

Our monthly TVBA Pastors Fellowship Conference will be held on monthly on the third Monday at 11AM , then we will eat lunch afterwards.

Our 2021-2022 TVBA Book of Reports which includes the Church profiles that were submitted in September were available at our Annual Meeting in October at Dayton First Baptist. These are available for you and your church. You may email the office for a digital copy or stop by the office for a hard copy.

Annual Church Tax Seminar
When: Tuesday, January 18th, 2022, 9:30-11:30 AM
Where: HCBA Office – 4062 S Access Rd. Chattanooga, TN 37406
Who: Ministers, financial secretaries, treasurers, finance, personnel committee members, volunteer workers, and those who prepare the 941, W-2, payroll checks; pastors and other interested administrative staff are also invited to participate.
How to sign up/Cost:
Call the HCBA office at 423-267-3794, or send an email to hcba@baptistassociation.com, and let us know you are coming. This is at ZERO cost to you.
Why:
Do you know that the total of all four 941’s must balance with the W2s and W3s? Do you know what insurance costs must be added to line 2 of the 941? Did you know that Christmas and other bonuses or love offerings must also be added to the final 941 before mailing? Did you know that housing does NOT go on a W2 or 941? Did you know that an interim pastor would be deemed to be an employee, and that would prohibit mileage between home and office as business miles? Do you know what wages paid to an ordained person can be considered ministerial wages?
These and other questions will be answered at this yearly seminar. Call or email today to reserve your space.

Tennessee WMU Scholarships
Tennessee Woman's Missionary Union scholarships are available to encourage and assist Baptist students in Tennessee colleges, Southern Baptist Seminaries, and in their Christian development and academic preparation for a life of Christian service. We encourage all college, graduate, or seminary students with a heart for missions and ministry to apply. Online applications and information will be available at tnwmu.org .

TVBA NEWLY Assigned Missionary Kid (MK): Karis Shelton
WMU has asked TVBA to adopt” an MK whose parents are serving with the IMB. The purpose is for the associations to nurture and encourage these students while they are far from family.
