A Note about Dana from UCBC
While we continue to hold all our meeting virtually, we kindly remind you to contribute to Tashi la’s virtual bowl.
Tashi is infinitely grateful for your kind support. Buddhist monastic tradition considers all contributions to be identical and anonymous (whatever the amount), to avoid comparisons and favoritism. Therefore, he cannot express his gratitude individually for your generosity.
We now have more options available to us:
PayPal: by sending your donation to GreatMiddleWay@gmail.com
Zelle: by sending your donation to Nicolas Carballeira using either (469) 219-0077 or GreatMiddleWay@gmail.com
Venmo: by sending your donation to @Tashi-Nyima-1
Regular mail: By sending a check to Nicolás Carballeira, 9090 Skillman St, Ste 182-A #117, Dallas TX 75243

The Free Women’s Collective
Virtual Book Club Updates for 2022
Thank you to all that voted for books for 2022 and the winners are in! A new year means a chance to change things up. In 2022 we will be reading one book over two months. The first meeting will be to discuss the first half of the book, and the final meeting will be to discuss the second half and the entirety of the book. Please make a note now in your calendars of the dates and books. You are encouraged to take notes and share quotes you find noteworthy. All are welcome!
About the Virtual Book Club
The Free Women's Collective Virtual Book Club is a monthly book discussion group on Zoom open to all Sangha members.
- It is not necessary to have read the whole book in order to participate in the discussion.
- Feel free to make notes as you read to remember quotes, questions, or ideas that stood out.
- All meetings are held on the first Monday of each month from 7:00 - 8:30pm. Join us at https://zoom.us/j/825940300
Please contact us at fwcreaders@gmail.com if you have questions.
About the Writer's Group
The Writers Group will meet Monday, January 17 from 7-8:30PM on our zoom channel. All are welcome.
The FWC is proud to announce the launching of The Writers’ Group, a company of writers, aspiring writers, lapsed writers, and fans of writers. We welcome anyone interested in words on pages, whether you want to write, transcribe, edit, pretend to write, or be writer-friendly.
We will have an organizational meeting immediately following Sunday sangha (same Zoom channel) to decide all the start-a-group questions, including the time honored who, what, when, where. Join us, and let’s see what we can invent together. Contact us at fwcwritersgroup@gmail.com.
About the CARE Team
The Care Team provides community, assistance, and support for Sangha members who need a companion on the path. We can provide meals, transportation, prayers, meditation partners, or resources if we can't meet your needs.
We also have a caring community on What's App where we can share posts, photos, et cetera. Join us by downloading What’s App if you don’t already have it, and send your phone number to us at fwccareteam@gmail.com. (We can help you with the What’s App download if you’d like us to – we can walk you through it on the phone or come to your house.)
Summer is here, and whether you're traveling or staying home, our What's App Gang would love to see a picture of where you're meditating these days.

Great Middle Way Buddhist Association
Volunteer to Transcribe Audio
We are recruiting Sangha members to volunteer to do transcriptions for some of Tashi's more recent Dharma talks.
We use the easy and free Audacity software. It is an excellent Dharma activity practice and it always brings great benefit.
For more information, please email Jack Salamone at GonpoDorje@gmail.com.
The Dharma Handbook
Kunchen Dolpopa's The Dharma Handbook, with Tashi Nyima's extensive commentary, is available in paperback, PDF, and ePub formats. All versions are offered at no cost.
Ways to Support GMWBA
The Great Middle Way Buddhist Association sponsors the publication of The Dharma Handbook and there are two ways to offer your support.
Shop at Amazon Smile
The Amazon Smile program allows you to contribute .05% from each of your Amazon purchases to a nonprofit. Shop at smile.amazon.com and choose the Great Middle Way Buddhist Association as your nonprofit.
The GMWBA appreciates you selecting the Great Middle Way Buddhist Association as your charity of choice for Amazon Smile. Your donations through Amazon Smile have proven to be a successful way to raise funds for GMWBA.
Very often the Amazon Smile connection will be disconnected from your Amazon page and the Great Middle Way Buddhist Association will not receive your donation. Please check the top left side of the screen to confirm you are using the Amazon Smile page each time you make a purchase.
Donate via PayPal
You can donate directly to the Great Middle Way Buddhist Association via PayPal. Choose "send money to family or friends" and use GMWBA.donate@gmail.com as the recipient's email address.
Thank You from GMWBA
The Great Middle Way Buddhist Association (commonly referred to by Tashi as "the Goombas") wishes to express our deepest gratitude and thank you for remembering to select GMWBA as your non-profit of choice for all your purchases on Amazon Smile.
GMWBA is publishing Tashi's writings, and developing the Heart of the Mountain Dharma Refuge with the Jonang Stupa of Vast Compassion in Crestone Colorado.

UCBC Council Updates
The UCBC Council exists to direct the Jonang Sanghas in Texas and Mexico, establish policies and procedures concerning ethical conduct and succession, and plan retreats and pilgrimages.
The Council is also responsible for fundraising, administration, and disbursement of donations to the Little Lamas (Jonang Monastery, Nepal), the Buddhist nuns of Comunidad Dharmadatta (Central and South America), Animal Place (California), and our Lama’s Parsonage in Dallas.
The members of the UCBC Council are Elizabet Sterner, Wendy DeOre, Jack Salamone, Paul Isbell, Leticia Moreland, Abha Ahuja, Cheryla Coskie, Paloma Labastida, Ernesto Boleaga, Sara Monaghan, and John Shufelt. Tashi Nyima advises the Council, but is not a voting member.
If you are interested in serving on the Council, please contact any of the current members.
Donations for UCBC Outreach Programs
If you wish to give money for our various projects for UCBC, we accept cash, checks or donations via PayPal or Zelle. Our account info is: UCBC.donate@gmail.com. A digital receipt is included when donating via PayPal or Zelle.
UCBC is totally separate from what we give to Tashi-la in his bowl at Sangha and at retreats. Tashi-la cannot accept, or be involved in decisions of how the money is spent for UCBC, since he is a monk.

Nying Je Ling (Universal Compassion Buddhist Congregation) is a western branch of Great Middle Way Buddhism. It arose, as with all Buddhist communities, from the teachings, example, and blessings of Buddha Shakyamuni. These were then transmitted through a lineage of realized Buddhist Masters, including the Protector Maitreya, the Superior Nagarjuna, the Holy Brothers Asanga and Vasubandhu, the Omniscient Dolpopa, and the Noble Taranatha.
Nying Je Ling presents the Dharma in a form that is appropriate to the needs and conditions of the contemporary world. We encourage all to follow the perfect example of simplicity and purity of practice shown by the Jonang Lamas throughout history.May the sun that illumines the Mountain Dharma of Kunchen Dolpopa’s GreatMiddle Way, having risen in Tibet, now shine over the West. By the merit accrued through the pure thoughts, words, and deeds of the Jonangpas, may the teachings, example, and blessings of Buddha Shakyamuni and the Buddha from Dolpo remain and flourish for the greater good and happiness of all beings.
