Happy New Year Folks!

Thanks to all of you who have supported us this past year and kept us going. Our goal is to provide homegrown food to our friends and neighbors that will nourish your family. With all the uncertainty in the world right now, it is also our goal to provide and build an alternative food system for those of you that want it. Food grown in your community will still be here even if larger supply chains fail. I know we are more expensive, but as long as you value and support us we will always be here.

In 2021 we raised 25 beef and 20 pigs. For 2022 we are looking at raising  35- 40 beef and 30 to 40 pastured pigs. We have also started a small flock of sheep. While it will be a awhile before we have any lamb to sell, I think sheep will be a great addition to the farm that will open up some new opportunities for us.

One challenge we face this year is land. In order to keep growing the beef business we are going to need more land. If you know of any land available to rent close to Sauquoit please reach out to me.

I do have some beef and pork bundles available. I'll send out an email tomorrow with a list of what we have.

2021 was a hard  year for many. The world as a whole has been rather dark. But on the local level, in my world, I see a lot of good things happening. More folks are concerned about where their food comes from and are buying more local and growing more of their own. That is really exciting to see! I'm seeing more folks connecting with neighbors and more interest in what's happening to the community. I know for us we've met so many new and wonderful people over the past 2 years despite what is going on. We aren't meant to be alone. Makes sure you take time to connect with friends and family. Give a loved one a hug. Have a bonfire with some friends. Build a raised bed and grow some food. All of that will lift up your soul and that, that is more healing than anything else. I see a ton of good in the world right now, but you have to look in your own backyard, in your own community to see it.

May you all be blessed and filled with hope in the new year!

God Bless,

Jordan Winters
