INNOVATIVE IDEAS. REAL RESULTS.
Sagamore Solutions is a monthly e-newsletter featuring efforts to advance our core mission: to build and implement solutions to society's biggest problems.

In our December issue, we celebrate the holiday spirit by sharing a heartwarming story about Sagamore’s work in Africa. Please read about Gina and Travis Sheets care for a little boy from the Liberian bush who recently won $40,000 in a venture pitch competition. You can also read about Sagamore’s partnership with Indiana-based Basic Utility Vehicles in Rwanda. Finally, we highlight Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb’s visit to our partner, Purposeful Design. As the tour ended, Gov Holcomb said, “I feel nourished.”  It’s a sentiment that we feel at Sagamore as the year draws to a close.  It is a privilege to do meaningful work with policymakers, entrepreneurs, and impact investors who desire to make the world a better place…one project at a time.
Q&A WITH TRAVIS AND GINA SHEETS
Did you know that Liberia was established by Americans opposed to slavery in the mid-1800s? It is a complicated history that fuses the slave trade with colonization and African indigenous rights. This fusion led to a civil war in the 1980s and 90s followed by the election of Africa’s first female head of state in 2005. Sagamore is helping Liberia realize the promise of liberty with the dignity of self-government through the work of Donald Cassell and Travis and Gina Sheets.
