Start your winter term off right with these important reminders

Welcome back, Beavs! (Or if you're just joining us winter term -- welcome to campus living!) Now that you're getting settled, we've got a few important reminders for you:

  • If you have a Dining Dollars balance from last term: That's okay, the money rolls from term to term! But be sure to track your spending on MyUHDS to get a sense if the plan you're on is still right for you. You have until week 3 to move to a smaller plan; or move to a larger plan at any time. You'll have an additional year to spend any money left on your account after June 2022.
  • If you still need to complete your required re-entry testing for COVID-19: Remember, OSU is requiring that on-campus residents are tested within the first week of the winter 2022 term. For specific instructions, check the email you received to your OSU email address on Thurs. Dec. 30. Today's testing locations are the Student Experience Center Plaza and Cascade Hall.
  • If there's something broken in your room: We want to help! Submit a maintenance request through the "Services" section of your MyUHDS to let our facilities team know.
Have a housing or dining question now that you're back for winter?  Contact our office.

New year. New place?

Now that it's officially 2022 it's time to start thinking about where you'll call home next year. Live on campus for the 2022-23 school year and you could get $1,200 off ($400/term) your room rate next year! Choose from options that include:

  • Apartment-style Halsell Hall. Halsell features suites with either private or shared bedrooms, an in-suite bathroom, kitchenette and living room.
  • Suite-style Bloss Hall, Tebeau Hall or the ILLC. Bloss and Tebeau offer two- or three-bedroom suites, respectively, with in-suite bathrooms. The ILLC offers double or triple rooms with in-suite bathrooms.
  • Traditional rooms on the first floor of Hawley-Buxton and multiple floor plans in Sackett Hall B-wing. Both halls also feature kitchens and large lounges.

Apply for next year's housing starting Feb. 1. Learn more at uhds.link/return2022.

SAFETY SPOTLIGHT

New Year's resolution: Lock your door when you leave

If you're planning to start some new habits this year, here's one to add to the list: Remember to lock your door when no one is in your room.

It can be easy to think of your residence hall room like a bedroom door at home, and leave it unlocked. Instead, we encourage campus residents to treat their room like the front door of a house. Locking your room door provides an extra layer of security for your belongings, in addition to the always-locked points of entry at your building and stairwell entrances.
