Thorold Restaurant Owners Upset by Shutdown

The government of Ontario declared a new province-wide shutdown of indoor dining effective Wednesday, January 5th, upsetting local restaurant and bar operators. Read article in Thorold Today

We start a new year with MY Thorold Meme of the Month for January 2022 by trying to slip into Ontario Premier Doug Ford's head.  Ford announced a shutdown of indoor dining at restaurants across the province for a 21-day ban in January, but patio dining at eateries will be allowed. If you feel patio dining in January is a chilly idea, take-out food is always an option to support our local restaurants!

Harmful Germs May Be Growing in Home Plumbing

A group of nasty bacteria could land in Thorold homes. The harmful germs could be finding a path into hot tubs, humidifiers, water heaters, showerheads and other places in plumbing systems in residences across Canada. Known as Legionella, these bacteria can make people sick if inhaled from water droplets and mists released into the air.
