Pictured above was an event for the Breast Cancer Comfort organization in December; the branch volunteered to deliver care packages filled with comfort items such as blankets to women dealing with breast cancer. 

Another one of their recent events was “Addressing The Afghanistan Humanitarian Crisis” that took place on Zoom on November 11th. The event sought to raise awareness about the struggles of the Afghan people in the country’s current political climate with a special focus on the hardships of Afghan women. Additionally, a raffle was held that would allow the group to funnel funds to the organization of one of the speakers. The aim of the organization was to provide financial assistance to Afghan refugees in the United States so that they may get settled in the most comfortable way possible. Two Afghan women activists were speakers at the event and each of them provided a unique perspective on the crisis, based on their different areas of expertise. Medical students interested in research take note! Applications for the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research’s (FAER) 2022 Medical Student Anesthesia Research Fellowship (MSARF) Program are open from December 15, 2021, through January 31, 2022. This valuable program matches medical students interested in anesthesiology research with academic anesthesiology departments across the nation. At these host departments, students will conduct eight-weeks of focused anesthesiology-related research over the summer under the guidance of a dedicated mentor.
