Winter 2022 Newsletter

It's a winter wonderland! Holiday decorations are tucked away for another year, and new year's resolutions are still fresh. Head to the library to start your year with new inspiration, kick your new wellness regimen into gear, or make plans for new goals and adventures in 2022.

The Friends spent a busy fall and winter beautifying the grounds at the library and paying tribute to our tireless library staff. We're easing into the new year with adult coloring activities, and flipping through the latest edition of Book Page to find our next favorite book!

Adult Coloring at the Library

Alternating Fridays at 1P, starting 1/21/22

Starting in January 2022, come spend a relaxing hour or two at the Library, we'll provide the materials, you provide the fun. It will take place on the first and third Fridays of the month, starting Friday, January 21st from 1-3pm. Crossword, word search and other puzzles will also be available.

The Friends of the Library have successfully won a grant to digitize the Pompton Lakes High School Yearbooks, dating back to 1936. When complete, digital copies will be available in the library and can be searched by name. However we need to raise a small amount of match funding. Contact us if you'd like to make a donation.

This project is funded, in part, by the Passaic County Cultural and Heritage Council at Passaic County Community College through a grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a division of the Department of State.

A Blooming Beautiful Spring

Members of The Friends spent time planting bulbs to brighten up the library grounds this upcoming spring. Look for splashes of color as spring flowers surround the entryway to the Library once the weather warms up!

Paying Tribute to our Library Team

The Friends gathered in December to pay tribute to our intrepid library workers for their tireless hours. We appreciate everything they do to keep our library open and running for all our residents and visitors and they're bravely dealing with construction works at the rear of the building to provide a new breezeway and accessible restroom. Well done guys!

Our Mahjong Club has resumed!

Join our players for a fun, casual afternoon, learn the rules and enjoy the game.

Digital Resources Available from Home

Although the library is open for browsing and borrowing, don't forget the following resources can be accessed online for free as part of your Pompton Lakes library membership. Some of these resources will prompt you to register yourself, others may require you to input your library card identification number. Magazines can now be found on the Libby app.
