Our annual Library Summer Reading Club Raffle starts this month.

Purchase a Library SRC Raffle ticket and win big!

Book A Getaway with this year’s SRC Raffle prize: a $1500 travel vacation package through Evan’s World Travel!

Stay for a weekend in Las Vegas. Embark on a cruise to Mexico in the summer. Take the family to Universal Studios for Spring Break. Find a new adventure!

It only takes $10 to potentially win! Only 600 tickets total will be sold and we will sell up until the winner announcement on February 14, at 5:00 PM, or if we sell out completely beforehand.
We will call the winner two times. Winner MUST ANSWER BY THE SECOND CALL to win, or we will draw again.

All proceeds go towards Summer Reading Club funding and help keep events and programs entirely free for everyone to attend.

Look to purchase tickets at the library front desk during business hours, online via our Square webpage (coming soon, check on FB for details), OR on special event outings where Library staff will be set up to sell.

Your weekly favorites return from holiday break!

Starting January 4, weekly youth programs (Music & Movement, Babygarten Story Time, Early Learning Journeys Story Time, Discovery Kids STEM Lab, LEGOs @ The Library) are back!
Catch them in person here at the library!

December 7, starts at 6:00 PM, Ages 13 - 18

Teens are invited to join the youth services staff as they discuss all things books, movies, and pop culture-related.
They will also learn about events happening at the library and the Longview community.
A small snack will be served, and games/activities will be played!
Ages 13-18. 

Learn about 3D Game creation and tech development!
January 8  |  2:00 PM - 4:00 PM


Sadicon Labs is an immersive game development academy focusing on XR development (Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality) and 3D games.
They’re locally based here in Longview, and teach high-tech and in-demand skills that allow students to kick start their careers in the tech industry, and game development.

They’ll offer a free workshop here at the library on January 8, from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Ages 16+.

Learn more about what game development and AR/VR are. The kind of technology and equipment used to develop 3D games/apps. And get some hands-on demonstration of how that equipment works.

Plus, Sadicon will raffle off a gift card to Best Buy at the end of the workshop so a lucky attendant can get some new tech!

We’ll be offering one-on-one sessions where staff can show you the basic operating procedures of your device, and how to access the library's vast e-collection.

Help sessions are offered on January 19, 21, and 25.
Time slots are available BY APPOINTMENT and vary depending on the number of staff that day.

It’s live music night at the library with singer, songwriter, and recording artist Billie Jo!
Blending traditional country vocals with honest songs, Billie Jo is a proud Texas native and has established herself as one of Texas country’s upcoming artists to watch.

She’s won numerous singing competitions, opened for legendary country acts like Ray Price and Linda Davis. And, she’s been featured on The Voice, American Idol, and recently on “Real Country” where she was hand-picked by Shania Twain to compete on her team.

We look forward to having Billie Jo with us for the evening! Sounds & Stacks is free to attend, and all ages are welcome.

The Longview Public Library is accepting donation drops offs for Homeless Resource Day. All items collected are sorted and put into outreach bags to give away during Homeless Resource Day on January 27 at the Longview Exhibit Center (where the fairgrounds are).

We're accepting donations up until January 24. If you need help unloading items, feel free to contact the library at (903) 237-1350. We'll be happy to help!

For those looking to volunteer for Homeless Resource Day, please use the contact information or Vendor Booth Application located on the City of Longview's Homeless Resource Day webpage.

FREE computer courses are back! We offer a variety of classes each month for beginners and intermediate students, taught by volunteers. Seating is limited, please call (903) 237-1350 to register for a spot.
