Update to Apple AirTag tracking options
In November we shared information about how predators use tracking devices, like Apple AirTag. Recently, Apple launched a new app compatible with Android devices to help search for AirTag devices.
We have updated our “Who is Tracking Your Student” page with information about this new app and how to manually search for tracking devices from an Apple or Android device.
Did your family use the “Smart Phone and Social Media Agreement” template in December to create ground rules for screen time and online decisions? More than 650 families accessed this VIP course for free in December.
No worries if you missed the free window… try our VIP (Very Informed Parent) membership to access this course today. VIP members get access to all of our courses and resources to help you to talk with your students about safe decision-making skills on social media!
We want to listen more to our VIP members, parents, educators, and students around the country. Every week in 2022, we’ll give you a preview of what resources we are working on and how you can help us!
Reply to any of our email newsletters with your answers to our questions and you might get a $5 Starbucks gift card in our appreciation for your time and ideas to help build our content!
Topics we’re working on for the next few weeks:
File sharing dangers: Have your students received unwanted files (like photos) throughApple’s AirDrop or Android’s Nearby Share features?
New Instagram safety tools: Have you seen a difference?
“Delete that tweet”: When was the last time you scrubbed your old social media? Do all your “memories” accurately reflect your ideas today? How do you help your students do this?
Apple Screen Time settings: Do you have a story of screen time challenges that Apple Screen Time settings helped remedy?
Please reply to this email if you have a question about one of our programs or an app. I read every email.
Thanks for your support and for helping us keep kids safe online!
