Happy New Year from the PLIX team!

Welcome to the first PLIX newsletter of the year! It has been a pleasure to watch the PLIX community grow over the last year, and we look forward to the exciting adventures ahead of us!

🖍️ Upcoming Workshops & Opportunities

👋 PLIX Community Call. Thursday, January 20th (12–1PM ET). Join us for our quarterly, PLIX-wide community call! Along with the usual community share-outs, at this meeting we’ll offer a peek at the results of an ongoing project at PLIX, a co-design focused on the needs of rural public libraries and tribal libraries. RSVP required.

🦅 Spatial Poetry. Thursday, February 17th (12–1PM ET). Ambassadors Clara, Athy, and Sasha will lead our new PLIX Spatial Poetry activity with us. Have questions or insights to share about it before the workshop? Head over to the PLIX Forum Spatial Poetry space!

👩‍🚀 Space Food. Thursday, March 17th (12–1PM). With Ambassadors Rebecca, Tara, and Hope, the PLIX team will introduce the PLIX Space Food activity. Head over to the PLIX Forum Space Food space if you have questions / insights before then.

🌎 Community Highlights

Angelica of the Johnson County Public Library Makerspace (KS) shared an animated jellyfish paper circuit she's prototyping for next summer's reading program.

Alan (then of the Salt Lake City Public Library, now with the Utah State Library) shared the laser-cut looms made in-house. Weaving would work well with the PLIX Beautiful Symmetry activity!

Keisha of Cleveland Bradley County Public Library (TN) lit up her patrons’ interest in paper circuits with a pirate-themed project.

Jean of Erving Public Library (MA) shared her take-and-make kits to share the PLIX Beautiful Symmetry activity with patrons at home.
