Building Hep C Treatment Capacity in
OASAS-certified Programs
Recognizing that Hep C is prevalent among people who use drugs, it is important for OASAS programs to identify everyone with chronic Hep C and offer treatment. On January 12, five different OASAS certified programs in rural and urban New York State presented on how they increased their capacity to treat Hep C within their facilities and discussed the barriers encountered and how they were able to overcome some of them. Programs who could not offer treatment on-site, explained how they developed strong referral networks to ensure treatment initiation.
