2021 was an important year for GLAHR, following a whirlwind year filled with change, the continued effort to build coalitions and partner alongside Advancement Project and Women on the Rise, this year started off with fighting ill legislation like the proposed SB 202, limiting voters' ability to cast absentee ballots. GLAHR was able to participate in 56 calls and demonstrations.
The beginning of the year also marked the end of an era for the 287g program in both Gwinnett and Cobb county. A continued effort and struggle of several years gave fruit when voters from the both these counties elected sheriffs that made campaign promises to end the controversial anti-immigrant program.
