General
Welcome to day 2 of World Language week! Grab your bingo boards for the next clue: Mexico is home to 124 million Spanish-speakers, and it’s capital is Mexico City. The capital of Mexico is Mexico City. Once again, the capital of Mexico is Mexico City.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Thiele will be available to answer questions about the proposed schedule for next school year. He will be in the Community Room off of the cafeteria during lunch periods on Thursday, January 6. Anyone can stop in during their lunch period. Students are not allowed to miss class to attend the sessions.
The Math Resource Center will be open starting Monday, January 11. Reserve your spot by using the QR code posted on the Math Resource Center window or on the website.
If you are interested in being an Aide for the Deans/Attendance Office, please stop by our office to pick up a form!
College & Career
Attention Seniors: Some college applications have a February 15th deadline, which is fast approaching. Make sure your supporting documents are in Naviance before January 14th if you need to meet the February 15th college deadline.
Activities

GERMAN CLUB: Join us TODAY after school in A210 for our annual "cabbage tour" and New Year's Celebration. This is our most popular meeting of the year. Bring a friend!
Athletics
There will be a short badminton info meeting right after school TOMORROW in the math resource center, room D374. Please contact Coach Painter in the math department if you cannot attend.
The girls track and field team will be having an informational meeting this Friday, January 7th at 7:30AM in the auditorium. Everyone is invited to hear more information about the upcoming girls track season (even if you are currently in a winter sport). See you Friday morning!
The Track & Field season officially starts in two weeks. The Boys Team will have a preseason meeting next Tuesday, January 11th in the Cafeteria to discuss everything you need to know to be prepared for the first day of practice. Get registered now on 8 to 18.
Congrats to the JV/Freshmen Wrestling team on their championship at the Oswego East JV Dual Team Tournament. The Mustangs went 4-0 on the day defeating Romeoville, York, and both Oswego teams in route to the championship, which is the third by the JV Mustangs this season. How strong? SOUTHSTRONG!!!
Congrats to the varsity wrestling team on their performance at the Mid-States Classic in WI over the holiday break. Seven Mustangs finished in the top 8 of their weight classes including: Donnie Fields- 5th, Lamont Sims- 7th, Luke Swan- 3rd, Jimmy Nugent, 2nd, Will Schuessler- 3rd, Noah Rapinchuk- 4th, & Semaj Croswell- 7th. The team finished 4th out of 39 teams. How strong? SOUTHSTRONG!!!
