1.) Blog: Failing to Maintain the Minimum Standard of Care

• The minimum standards of nursing care outline what the professional expectations of nurses, and a common complaint made to the Board against nurses is failing to maintain these standards. To learn more about standards of care and how to uploaded them, check out our blog here. 

2.) Video: Nurse Handoff Communication

• Good communication between nurses with regard to patient handoff is an essential part of protecting your patients. This video discusses the importance of good communication and offers advice on how to improve communication between nurses, including an overview of the SBARR method. Check it out here. 

3.) Facebook Group

• .North State Law has created a group on Facebook just for Nurse Practitioners in NC. The purpose is to foster a friendly environment where NPs from all over the state can bounce questions off of each other regarding side gigs, best ways to grow their practice, as well as how to deal with certain aspects of the NP field including in-hospital settings.  If you would like to be a member of the Facebook group, please click here.

4.) Online CE Options

• To maintain your nursing license, you must complete a certain number of hours of continuing nursing education activities. If you need additional hours, be sure to check out the NCBON’s website here for some online CNE options.
