Happy New Year from Brooklyn Intergroup!

We hope 2022 is a fantastic year for you, full of love, serenity and good health. There were many holiday alcothons and other events over the past week. But now that the holidays are over, it might be time to focus on ways to be of service to other alcoholics who may need your help.

In this issue, we will highlight a few excellent resources to learn more about service in A.A.

Starting tonight: Two opportunities to get in on the ground floor with CONCEPT NUMBER ONE!

Manhattan County and Old Park Slope Caton are hosting separate Concepts Meetings every first Wednesday of the month and third Monday of the month. A new concept will be covered each month.

Meetings in January 2022 will restart the cycle with Concept Number One. This is a great time to get started with these monthly meetings and learn all about the Concepts throughout the year.

The Twelve Concepts for World Service describe the relationship of the various service entities and how they work together. The Concepts help to ensure that the various service entities remain responsive and responsible to the Fellowship they serve.

The A.A. Service Manual covers the Twelve Concepts for World Service in detail and should be read by every “trusted servant.”

Starting this Sunday: The AA Service Manual Study Group

The AA Service Manual Open Forum Virtual Study Group, hosted by the SENY, starts this Sunday, January 9th from 4:00 - 5pm.

This will be a 12-week continuous study of the NEW A.A. SERVICE MANUAL, combined with The Twelve Concepts of World Service. Each week will concentrate on a Chapter with a guest speaker and open forum.

In-Person Speaker Exchange?

Brooklyn Intergroup would be happy to host a quarterly in-person speaker exchange. But before we make the arrangements, we need to know if groups will participate.

If your group would participate in an in-person speaker exchange, please send an email to exchange@bigaa.org and say "Yes! Our group wants an in-person speaker exchange!"

Your group would commit to sending one representative to the speaker exchange every few months to offer and take speaking commitments from other Brooklyn groups.

How does it work?

Place an order at bigaa.org/shop.
Any in-stock items will be available for pickup immediately.
A Brooklyn Intergroup rep will contact you to set up a time for pickup.
Backordered items will be shipped to Brooklyn Intergroup's main office.
You will receive an email when backordered items are ready for pickup.

This is a business office for BIGAA, similar to NY Intergroup's business office in Manhattan.
AA members and groups can purchase and pick up literature, anniversary coins, and other publications at the office.
We are planning Brooklyn AA Fellowship activities and AA workshops.

We are in need of volunteers and contributions to keep these doors open for years to come.
