FINAL CALL FOR BOARD NOMINATIONS! CLOSING JAN 19TH!
HELP BRING CHANGE TO PARKDALE TODAY!
We are now three weeks away from our Parkdale Neighbourhood Land Trust (PNLT) AGM, and two weeks from announcing our PNLT nominees! There is still time for you to nominate yourself or someone else for the Parkdale Neighbourhood Land Trust Board! Submit a nomination now before nominations close on January 19th.
Who are we looking for? People who are knowledgeable about their community, willing to attend meetings informed, and want to bring progressive change to Parkdale. That's it!
Does NLT's Board need Nominees too? Yes! NLT Board Members will be chosen by the PNLT Board at NLT's AGM on January 19th! If you or anyone you know would like to sit on a smaller, more focused board that is responsible for fiduciary oversight, please fill in the nomination form and select NLT as the Board you are nominating for!
What is the Board nomination process?
- You fill in this form
- We get in touch with you or the person you nominate and make sure the role and responsibilities are understood, and finalise the nomination!
Does someone I nominate need to know I nominated them? No; we will call them and ask them if they wish to accept the nomination!
What skills are you looking for? Our Board could really use people with the following skills:
- Construction Management,
- Non-Profit Governance,
- Accounting and Finance,
- Fundraising,
- Business Planning, and
- Marketing and Communications experience.
If you or anyone you know has these skills please consider nominating!
Do you support the participation of equity seeking groups?
We definitely do! Our board should represent our community! We specifically encourage the participation of:
- Members of diverse communities that are prominent in Parkdale;
- Tenants of small rental apartment buildings, coops, and rooming houses in Parkdale, especially tenants of properties owned by the Land Trust;
- Youth (below 30) or older adults (65+); and
- Immigrants, newcomers & ESL speakers.
- Experienced in real estate and property development, mortgage and real estate finance, urban planning, fundraising, or have contacts in donor communities.

What is the last day to nominate someone for the PNLT Board? We plan to launch voting on January 24th, so we need to know by January 19th at the latest.
