Hello all Sailability helpers,

This is just to wish you all a very Happy New Year.

Despite the fact that it is freezing cold and we are in the middle of another Covid surge, your committee is starting work on preparing for the season ahead. We are aiming to get on the water again around Easter (exact date to be decided). As we look at volunteer training, boat preparation and the purchase of new equipment - we wondered if anyone had any requests or ideas for training for the season ahead. I asked the same question last year but unfortunately covid conspired against us such that we ended up running a much reduced (although much appreciated) service.

By the time we restart Sailability this year it will be over 2 years since some of us were last on the water in this context. I wondered if you would be interested in updating in any of the following? If so could you let me know so I have an idea of numbers.

Hoisting participants into boats
Rigging Access dinghies
Helming Access dinghies
Rigging the crabber
Helming the crabber
Bringing the crabber from mooring to pontoon - and reverse procedure
Safety boat for Sailability
launch and recovery of Wheelyboat
Driving the Wheelyboat
Disability awareness

Covid safety is as always top of our priorities. We would not run any of these updates/refreshers at the current time but assuming rates are going to drop over the next 6-8 weeks we need to start planning now.

Stay safe.
Hope to see you all in the coming season.
