Happy New Year from The Answer Class Family to Yours!
Find an Affordable SAT or ACT Prep Class
Parents + Students

Our second in a series of blogs on test-optional admissions, this month’s blog, “Test-Optional: What (Else) Does It Mean for You?” shares more information on how students (and parents!) can think about these new policies in order to put their strengths front and center.

Schools
 New for 2022!!
In addition to our many in-person & live, virtual school-based classes, we're excited to offer:
3 In-Person SAT Prep Classes & 1 In-Person ACT Prep Class at University of Maryland
2 In-Person SAT Prep Classes at Johns Hopkins University

All classes prepare students for the upcoming SAT & ACT tests, including the March 12 SAT, the free March 23 in-school SAT for Juniors in AACPS and MCPS, and the April 26 in-school SAT for BCPS Juniors.
From Around the Web:
  • There are a lot of assumptions about what “early decision” really means. The New York Times tries to bring some clarity. (Spoiler: the early decision isn’t binding!)
  • After a major dip in college applications submitted in the 2019-2020 cycle, the number has rebounded, particularly among low-income, underrepresented, and first-generation students.
  • The nuances of test prep may be a bit different for English language learners, and U.S. News and World Report has tips for studying that take these nuances into consideration.
  • Harvard University is extending its test-optional policy through 2026 applications, which may set an example for other colleges.
