HUD Community Workshops for CoCs – Spring 2022

HMIS Leads and System Administrators are invited to participate in the upcoming HUD Community Workshops. The Community Workshops are an opportunity to receive technical assistance (TA) through group learning, peer-to-peer exchange, and individualized support from experts.

Beginning in February and concluding in June, Community Workshops will require participants to attend group sessions, engage in one-on-one assistance, and work on their topic area in their community on a weekly basis.

The level of engagement, appropriate participants, and any other pre-requisite capacity varies by Workshop topic. Communities can only sign up for one topic. The topics offered this semester are:

  • Creating Community-Wide Support for Housing-Focused Practices
  • Coordinated Entry: Prioritization and Assessment
  • Coordinated Entry: Referral Best Practices
  • Partnering with People with Lived Experience of Homelessness
  • System Performance Improvement Using Stella P

All communities will be expected to participate in a three-week pre-requisite equity foundational workshop prior to the topic-specific community workshops.

For more information, please review Community Workshops: At A Glance.

Registration

Registration occurs through HUD’s Regional Team Initiative. Every Continuum of Care (CoC) has a Point of Contact through this initiative.

The deadline to register is February 14, 2022. Each community can only register for one workshop, therefore please collaborate with your CoC and broader community to determine the best fit.

Please Note: Many communities may be overwhelmed in the midst of yet another COVID-19 surge and the many requirements of daily work. It is possible that these workshops might be able to help communities make some positive changes in the fight to end homelessness. However, it is also possible that this might not be the right time to invest time and energy in these topics. For participants that are feeling unsure about this opportunity, please reach out to your Regional Team Point of Contact or to Alissa Parrish to discuss the workshops in greater detail.

Training Point of Contact

If you have questions about the Community Workshops, need information regarding the Regional Team Point of Contact for your community, or would like to request a syllabus for a specific Workshop topic, please email Alissa Parrish.
