Anime, manga, cosplay, games and more!

This week: Jackbox, Weebpocalypse, Codenames

As we're online for yet another week, this week we'll be running through three of our favorite party games- Jackbox, Weebpoycalypse, and Codenames. Jackbox- a classic set of trivia and humor-based party games, which we've created a custom weeby set of prompts for; Weebpocalypse- a partner-based fast-paced game of describing and guessing as many anime as possible; and Codenames- a puzzle-solving team game.

We hope you all enjoyed the perspective workshop! Stay tuned for our next artist meetup workshop- and if you think you have something to bring to the table, contact us via email or Discord!

Additionally, for those who attend our weekly viewings, we are holding a poll to decide which seasonal anime we will be following weekly. Please vote here

Help (always) needed: UBCAni Cosplay Cafe 2022

Though we have no idea if we will actually be allowed to carry out our event as planned, we are beginning to recruit volunteers for our annual (well, at least it was annual before COVID) Cosplay Cafe! It will tentatively take place on March 19th, 2022. Although we are not formally announcing the event details yet, we would like to start recruiting as soon as possible to give our volunteers as much time to prepare as needed. There are 3 categories in particular we are looking to recruit early:

  • Kitchen staff, especially cooks: We are looking for anyone who loves and is experienced with cooking to help out! If you're confident in the kitchen, please consider applying!
  • Servers (and hosts, and any other front-facing positions): As this will be a cosplay cafe, we would love to have any cosplayers willing to help out. Servers will be expected to manage and interact with guests, as well as serve the food. However, if you do not have a cosplay but are still interested in this role, we would suggest wearing fancy dress appropriate to the theme.
For anyone interested in these roles, please fill out the volunteer recruitment form here
  • Performances: Do you sing, dance, or perform in any capacity? We're looking for talented people to perform at our stage throughout the event. Volunteers in other positions are also welcome to apply!
If you have a performance in mind, please sign up at this form here!
