Dear Members, 

I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and adventure filled New Year. On behalf of Leave Not Trace Ireland I’d like to express our gratitude for your continued support. Over the past year your continued support to Leave No Trace has allowed us to achieve: 
 

• We were awarded winners of The Wheel’s national Charity Impact Awards for medium organisations! 

• We were awarded "Most impactful NGO" but the Business Allstar Foundation 

• We launched our new Strategic Plan 2021 - 2024 

• For the second year in a row Leave No Trace Ireland in partnership with state agencies delivered the Love This Place national public awareness campaign reaching over three million listeners across Ireland  

• We actively engaged in the development of the new Outdoor Recreation Strategy for Ireland with other key stakeholders through Comhairle na Tuaithe, the Countryside Council  

• We delivered the first year of our ERASMUS+ Project “Sustainability and Environmental Education in Outdoor Sports” (SEE) as project lead 

• We published SORP compliant Annual Accounts, the financial reporting standard for charities and the Charities Governance Code  

• Delivered our first corporate Hot Spot programme with Gas Networks Ireland 

• Developed a new online course “Introduction to the 7 Principles of Leave No Trace” which will go live in 2022 

• Delivered our first pilot programme with private landowners 

We have been busy preparing our work plan for 2022 and have an exciting year ahead. Over the next year we will continue focusing on our mission which is to inspire personal responsibility in the outdoors and plan on accomplishing the following: 

• In partnership with state agencies Leave No Trace will deliver the Love This Place national public awareness campaign again for a third year running. This year already has substantial support which should see the campaign reach drastically expanded. 

• After a very successful  first year of our ERASMUS+ Project “Sustainability and Environmental Education in Outdoor Sports” (SEE) as project lead we continue into the second year of the project with renewed enthusiasm. 

• The successful Corporate Hot Spot programme is also expanding this year to include two new Corporate projects. Keep an eye out this year as we work with Gas Networks Ireland and Deloitte. 

• The new National Outdoor Recreation Strategy for Ireland will be published. This was led by Comhairle na Tuaithe, the Countryside Council.  Leave No Trace Ireland look forward to supporting the roll out of this new plan.

• We have an exciting new Training and Events Calendar this year!
