Welcome to the January issue of the newsletter!

We hope you all had a good start to the New Year, and are full of energy to continue supporting Europe's religious heritage!

This month's featured article comes to us from FRH Member Bucovina Tourism Association Romania who shares with us a rich historic and artistic account of the Orthodox legacy from medieval Moldavia.

FRH President, Pilar G. Bahamonde shares the great news; FRH will continue receiving support from the European Commission for the following 3 years!  As match funding is required, we would like to invite you to become a donor by contributing to our fundraiser campaign. Each donation will be doubled by a generous donor, so every euro counts!

The 2022 European Year of Youth has begun and FRH would like to continue engaging young people across Europe and raising awareness on our wonderful religious heritage sites. This year will be a great opportunity for the younger generations to share their opinions and ideas on the future of Europe's religious heritage! We therefore encourage everyone to share their ideas on how to take full advantage of this thematic year! Please share your ideas with us at info@frh-europe.org

In case you missed it; the 4 events of the 2021 FRH biennial conference "Europe's Living Religious Heritage" can be found on our FRH Youtube channel. You can view them here.

As always, we are happy to feature members in our newsletter, so feel free to submit articles, event notifications, or anything else you would like to share with the network.

MESSAGE FROM FRH PRESIDENT
EUROPEAN COMMISSION WILL CONTINUE SUPPORTING FRH
As President of Future for Religious Heritage, I am delighted to announce that FRH has been selected for EU funding for the implementation of its Network project 'FRH UNITE'. Our network will therefore continue receiving financial support from the European Commission for the next 3 years, allowing us to continue raising the voice of religious heritage across Europe and carry out our strategic priorities between January 2022 and December 2024. It is an honour to be selected amongst the 30 pan-European organisations connecting and strengthening Europe's cultural sectors. Religious heritage is on the European agenda, and we want to ensure it will be a key contributor to finding solutions for the major challenges we face. As always, FRH is a member-led network, so we encourage all members to share their activities, events, ideas and projects with the network!

INTERPOL'S DATABASE OF STOLEN WORKS OF ART
The INTERPOL database of stolen works of art combines descriptions and pictures of more than 52,000 items. It is the only database at the international level with certified police information on stolen and missing objects of art. Information on stolen or counterfeit works are provided by countries, and once verified and fully identified by partner organisations (UNESCO,ICOM; ICCROM) they are inserted in the database. Religious heritage artefacts have long suffered from several cultural heritage crimes, including illicit trafficking and theft - so this initiative by INTERPOL is very much welcome! READ MORE >>>
