Hello Advising Network,

Lots of changes are coming our way!

See below for details regarding the return to campus, vaccination policy and enrolment details, and changes to open electives.

Return to Campus
Health and Safety Update for Academic Advisors

As indicated in the recent update from President Lachemi, the university continues to monitor guidance from the province and public health officials and plan for a broader return to campus. A number of resources are available to assist you in familiarizing with the new directives and protocols. Advisors should connect with their supervisors or leadership team to discuss department operations.

Student Vaccination Policy

Beginning one week ago, the university has been de-enrolling students from in-person courses if they are non-compliant with the vaccination policy. OVPS has provided lists of students who were subject to de-enrollment, as well as up-to-date information about vaccine compliance to faculties through associate deans’ offices, in order to enable local decision-making around re-enrollment.

Throughout the course drop-add period, if a student has since come into compliance, the student may re-enroll themselves if there is space in the course. If there is no space, it is up to the department to make decisions regarding re-enrollment and to re-enroll students in their courses if needed. See how to enroll a student in classes.

In the case of courses where departmental access is not available to re-enroll students (such as waitlisted courses), staff can find more information about submitting a request to re-enroll a student on the Advisor Summary Document entry on January 13, 2022.

For more details regarding de-enrollment and re-enrollment procedures, vaccine extensions and other scenarios, staff can see the Advisor Summary Document.
