Dear Friends,

You’re Invited.

On Monday January 31st, our Monday night book study (online) will begin a new book. The group decided to focus read: No Cure For Being Human (And Other Truths I Needed to Hear)

This book, written by Kate Bowler, focuses on the work of living into the life we have, not the life we’ve always wanted.

She writes, “It’s hard to give up on the feeling that the life you want is just out of reach. A beach body by summer. A trip to Disneyland around the corner. A promotion on the horizon. Everyone wants to believe that they are headed toward good, better, best. But what happens when the life you hoped for is put on hold indefinitely?”

This book helps us to see that we cannot “out-eat, out-learn and out-perform our humanness.” With dry wit and unflinching honesty, she grapples with her cancer diagnosis, her ambition, and her faith and searches for some kind of peace with her limitations in a culture that says that anything is possible.

This study will be 5 sessions long, reading two chapters per session. We meet on Zoom at 6:30 p.m.

If you are interested in joining us and need a book, speak with Pastor Sara. If you’d like to buy it yourself, here’s a link.

In Christ,
Pastor Sara

Tuesday mornings at 10:00am
resuming February 2nd

You are invited to join us in the back classroom for a healthy discussion on a variety of topics. We recently completed a refresher course on the Confirmation process. Now, we're ready to start something new. Do you have any ideas? Would you like to add your voice to the dialogue? Talk to Janson.
Opportunities for Service
We are looking for volunteers in a few specific areas.

Driving a friend to church – If you are looking for a way to connect with a friend, or help someone out, we have a few folks who need rides to church.

Teaching Flame Kids – Our Flame Kids teachers could use some help both on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings.

Helping with Youth Group – We are looking for a few extra Youth Group volunteers, for special events or filling in from time to time.

Directing the Choir – If you are interested in music, and leading others, we’d love to talk with you about directing the choir.

Worship Team Leader – With the new year, we are seeking someone to help lead our worship team. This position helps to organize the worship seasons and extra events as well as direct our focus.
Need a gift for that someone special or just for yourself? The Mission Committee is selling Journals and Picture Note Cards. Pictures on the note cards are from our previous mission trips to the Dominican Republic. They are at the church on the Missions counter. There is an envelope by the basket to put your money in.
