EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Title: Transgender Introductory Primer
Date: Friday, January 21, 2022, 12-2:30 ET
The Transgender Introductory Primer is ideal for a variety of professionals in the helping and health professions, particularly mental health, social service and medical providers. During this training, participants will learn basic terminology and theory, how to ask for pronouns, health disparities facing the transgender community, resiliency factors, gender transition paths and support needs, and targeted best practices. Providers will have an opportunity following the training to list themselves in Maine TransNet's community health database.
At the end of the recording, participants will be able to:
- Participants will be able to understand basic terminology and theory as they relate to transgender health.
- Participants will be able to describe health disparities facing the transgender community.
- Participants will be able to identify resiliency factors, gender transition paths and support needs, and targeted best practices for serving the transgender community.
Title: Immunize Colorado Education Series: Vaccine Mandates in Schools
Date: January 25th, 2022, 11-12 AM MT, 1-2 PM ET
The topic of vaccine mandates in schools has received increased attention since the development of COVID-19 vaccines, as many schools around the country consider requiring them for school entry in addition to already required immunizations.
Please join Immunize Colorado and Dr. Daniel Goldberg for a discussion on the public health, legal and ethical justifications for vaccine mandates in schools. Dr. Goldberg is trained as an attorney, a historian of medicine, and a public health ethicist. His current research agenda in law, policy, and bioethics focuses on the social determinants of health, public health policy and chronic illness, health inequities, and stigma.
Title: Communication/Motivational Interviewing Skills to Address Vaccine Hesitancy Training

This training opportunity is being put on MDPH and
PNQIN (Perinatal Neonatal Quality Improvement Network) in partnership with Center for Integrated Primary Care at UMass Chan Medical School as a part of PNQIN's Perinatal COVID-19 Vaccine Initiative. This training is a 90 minute webinar (12-1:30pm EST) designed to improve the counseling skills of Massachusetts clinicians for discussing COVID-19 vaccination with pregnant and postpartum people, parents and caregivers of young children, and families. The training will also focus on addressing vaccine hesitancy and reducing racial disparities in rates of COVID-19 vaccination.
While this training is geared toward clinicians, anyone can benefit and therefore you do not have to be a clinician to attend.
