LEARN:

Excited to announce Will & Veronica Pritchett will share their experience of how implementing plans, objectives, and goals has majorly impacted their lives and business.
Will and Veronica Pritchett have been investing in real estate for about ten years. They both had careers they loved but they felt they were missing out on too much of the parts of life those careers were supposed to support. They felt out of balance. This led Veronica to quit her job and pursue entrepreneurship full time. They haven't looked back. Veronica took the energy from her job as a high school administrator and applied it to their business which has allowed them to gain financial freedom. It also allowed her to never miss a school or family function again as she now works on her schedule.
The Pritchetts know they don't have it all figured out but they enjoy the journey of trying to figure it out. Goal setting is something they are very dedicated to and they want to share what has worked for them. They want to share how they stay on track moving towards their annual goals for the eleven months after January now, as they never did years ago. While they don't always hit all of their goals, they always have goals and objectibes they are trackign towards completion. They like Dwight D. Eisenhower's quote: "Plans are worthless, but planning is everything." The time spend planning has been wher major pivots and adjustments have happened in their lives and business.
The las thgouth they want to leave here to ponder until BREW is that it all comes back to your "why".

INVEST:

Thank you for investing your time to attend our December meetup!
It was a fun intimate setting where we welcomed new members, got updates from regulars, and enjoyed a real estate book exchange!

Profile of a BREW Investor:
Elizabeth Nurnberger

What inspired you to become interested in real estate investing?

My husband Todd (!), tax advantages, financial freedom, and the appeal of real estate investing vs getting a "real" job again!

Tell us about one of your favorite real estate transactions

Our recent purchase of a single-family home as a long-term rental. I was able to implement several "who not how" strategies to really make this deal work smoothly. We are trying to transition from a mind-set of "we can do it ourselves" to a "how can we leverage our time" mindset and this project went well in that regard.

Do you have any real estate mantras, rules, or words of wisdom you try to follow in your investing?

Does this feel light or heavy?
Passive investing is a game-changer.
Diversify your portfolio.

Please share a favorite business or real estate-related resource.

My two favorite real estate books (and yes, I recognize the irony!)

The Book on Managing Rental Properties by Heather & Brandon Turner

The Hands-Off Investor: An Insider's Guide to Investing in Passive Real Estate Syndications by Brian Burke

What do you like to do during your "off" time?

I love to travel and especially love traveling with our children (Henry, 12 & Madeline, 9) and showing them different cultures.
Run, read, hike, cycle, eat, drink good wine.

What else would you like your fellow meetup members to know about you?

Where WE can help: Todd, has a wealth of knowledge on tax strategy and analyzing/investing real estate syndication deals! Elizabeth can share how she manages our long-term rentals.
Where YOU can help: We are interested in adding a short-term rental to our portfolio (our first!) and another long-term rental (or two!), please reach out if you have a property that might be a good fit.

What is the best way for someone to get in contact with you?

Other thoughts?!

I sincerely appreciate everyone's support of BREW and sharing their valuable time to learn, invest, and connect. Whether that is through the meetup itself, facebook, the newsletter, or in our conversations, I am truly grateful for the encouragement and enthusiasm of our BREW community.

I especially appreciate the members who are willing to share their stories in the newsletter and a tremendous THANK YOU to our speaker's willingness to freely share their knowledge. You all are awesome!

Books read in December
Short-Term Rental Long-Term Wealth by Avery Carl This short easy read packs practical advice throughout. I appreciated the specific resources and best practice recommendations. If you are a new or seasoned STR investor, my guess is you will find at least one tip in this book that is worth the $17.99 cost!
4 out of 5 Cheers!

The Splendid and The Vile by Erik Larson This is NOT a short easy read or a real estate book but it's a great book on leadership! It is a fascinating look into Winston Churchill's first year as UK Prime Minister and his unparalleled ability to lead and inspire during a year of incredible destruction. An excellent book on leadership and courage, if you are interested in a deep dive into this period of history, this is the book.
5 out of 5 Cheers!
