We flew Scout Bassett, our VVWS keynote speaker from San Diego, CA to Sarasota, FL for 24 hours to film her segment for the third Voice + Visibility Women’s Summit Virtual event that premieres on 3.4.22!
The energy on our set was DEEP MAGIC.
Scout is a woman whosestory is a testament to the power of the human spirit. She is an amputee, an elite athlete, and a leader who has risen to become a Champion in Paralympics Track & Field competitions. She is a USA World Champion medalist and global ambassador for shining the light on the abilities of people with disabilities.
Scout’s exploding career is exciting, but it’s her commitment to mentoring athletes with disabilities and advocating for their rights that is transforming lives and opening doors for millions.
Scout and Christina Unkel sat down to discuss the advancement of women through sports, media, and advocacy.
Another hero on set was Emily Paulsen, an Easterseals of SW Florida alumni, who was joined by her mother, Kathy, and CEO, Tom Waters. Scout presented the VVWS Courageous Leadership medal to Emily for her achievements in mentoring and her Special Olympics swimming career.
This short documentary will premiere exclusively at the VVWS, launching on 3.4.22-4.3.22.
