Household Support Fund open for applications
Support is available to households in Birmingham over the winter using funding from the government’s Household Support Fund.

The Road Ahead 2022 report from NCVO
This week NCVO has launched the Road Ahead 2022 - its annual analysis of the biggest trends, opportunities and events that will impact charities and volunteering in the year ahead. NCVO has identified some areas of stability as well as trends that go beyond the pandemic, to help leaders, trustees and communities make informed decisions about their futures. Some of the trends set out include: more political stability, a tighter squeeze on living costs, and a shifting role on climate change.

Work on the Community Development Practice Hub continues
Between now and March development of the Community Development Practice Hub will continue, led by Steph Vidal-Hall who will be finding practical ways for practitioners who work with people to get together, support one another and share their place-based working practice. Steph will be reaching out to community organisations to find out what’s been valuable about the Hub so far, what matters to you now, and what’s needed in the year ahead.

Social mobility charity Speakers for Schools connects employers with thousands of young people
Join the likes of Spotify, the Bank of England, Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS and Wilmott Dixon, who already offer engaging virtual work experience for the next generation.

Stronger Communities Commonwealth Games Legacy Fund: Phase Two
Birmingham City Council, through the offices of BVSC, want to commission a number of projects that will support the legacy of the 2022 Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham. The Stronger Communities’ Commonwealth Games (CWG) Fund has been set up to support a number of activities that include heritage walking trails and documenting and sharing stories of diverse communities.

Textile Children’s Trust (UK)
Single parents and carers who have worked in the UK fashion or textile industry who have seen their household income reduced due to the coronavirus, can apply for emergency funding from the Fashion and Textile Children’s Trust. There are no application deadlines and applications can be accepted at any time.

Severn Trent Community Fund - Applications close 20 February
Severn Trent Community Fund is looking for new projects that reduce carbon and help communities care for nature. The Community Fund is giving away funding over 5 years to support new projects by local charities and community groups in the Severn Trent region.
