Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan and Guidance Counselor Molly Hudgens are our featured speakers, each of whom will share their experiences in keeping communities safe.
The summit will provide educators with the opportunity to discuss prevention and preparedness strategies that foster a safe school environment.

District Attorney of Chester County, PennsylvaniaDeb Ryan is the District Attorney of Chester County. She was sworn into office on January 3, 2020, becoming the first woman to serve as District Attorney in the county’s history.
Deb has dedicated her entire career to public service. She served as a prosecutor in the Philadelphia and Chester County District Attorneys’ Offices for 15 years, advocating for justice on behalf of victims and their families. She has handled thousands of criminal cases, successfully prosecuting homicides, sexual assaults, child abuse, high-level drug trafficking, domestic violence, gun violence, and many other types of crime.
During her 11 years at the Chester County District Attorney’s Office, she was the Deputy District Attorney in charge of the Child Abuse Unit and Children’s Advocacy Center. There she supervised a team of detectives and prosecutors and prosecuted some of the most violent and dangerous offenders in Chester County. Many of these high-profile cases involved complex and sensitive issues and required substantial skill and compassion.

Molly Bradley Hudgens is in her 21st year as an educator in the Cheatham County School System where she serves as a school counselor at Sycamore Middle School (SMS) in Pleasant View, Tennessee. In addition to her counseling role, Mrs. Hudgens also serves on SMS’s crisis management and leadership teams.
After a personal experience in college, her interest in violence prevention and safety sparked a desire to educate others who work with intervening in the lives of potentially violent teenagers. Her in-depth study on school shootings and the teenagers who commit these acts, “Recognizing Red Flags,” has been utilized nationally to train professionals in the fields of education, law enforcement, juvenile probation, and juvenile court. The training focuses on understanding the three types of school shooters and how to use threat assessment tools as an intervention to prevent violent acts in a school and community setting.
