Dear teachers,

Happy new year! We hope you are having a good start to the term so far. Today we write to you to share details of an upcoming project called Save the Last Dance for Me that young people can get involved with.

This project works with both young people and people with dementia and aims to help participants form connections whilst growing their confidence and creativity through a series of dynamic art, storytelling, poetry and music sessions.

Save the Last Dance will run over the course of eight weekly sessions (February - April 2022) and all young people participants will be compensated for their time with a £10 Amazon voucher per session.

We would really appreciate you sharing this opportunity through your networks, with your students and with other young people who might be interested in taking part. You can find further project details below as well as a downloadable flyer.

CALLOUT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE: GROW YOUR CREATIVITY
Are you aged 14-20 years old and interested in creative writing and connecting with others? We would love for you to join our upcoming project Save the Last Dance for Me!

Save the Last Dance for Me is a three month project (February to April 2022) in collaboration with the Creative Dementia Arts Network that uses art, creative writing and music as a focus for younger and older people to share memories and experiences, showcase these in a Zine and help plan and organise a dissemination event.

We are looking for young people who would like to talk about being young in 2022 and find out what it's like being older.

All young people who participate will be compensated for their time with a £10 Amazon voucher per session (on completion of the whole course). 

The project aims to promote social connections, enhance wellbeing and to increase confidence and the feeling of self worth through group work and interaction with like-minded young people while gaining new skills. For further information about this project, click here.
