After eighteen months, the Veterans Memorial Bridge (aka Milwaukee Bridge) is scheduled to reopen on March 1, 2022. The reopening of the bridge is the culmination of work done to repair and rehabilitate this major crossing point over the Puyallup River.
At the January 11, 2022, City Council meeting, Council selected Councilmember Dean Johnson as the next Mayor of Puyallup. The City Council has proclaimed February 2022 as Black History Month. The City is celebrating Black History Month by recognizing local leaders in the community.
Pioneer Park will soon be getting new restrooms for visitors and residents. Starting in the fall, construction will begin on improvements to the restroom building.
City Revises Comprehensive Plan Amendment Schedule
The City is revising the deadline to submit amendments to the 2022 Comprehensive Plan update. The new deadline is February 28, 2022, to submit privately initiated site applications, which would go into effect in 2022.
