Please Keep Your Meter Box Accessible
After a sunny January, you may be thinking about getting a jump start on landscape maintenance and improvements. Please help us out by trimming back vegetation around your water meter box so that it can be quickly and easily accessed by our staff in the event of a water service emergency or to perform periodic maintenance. When planting new plants, consider how big they’ll get when fully mature and place them accordingly so they do not grow over the meter box. Also, if you are planning on starting some outside projects such as building retaining walls or decks, or pouring concrete for a new driveway, please ensure that you or your contractor do not cover the meter box. Thanks for keeping you meter box accessible so we can provide quick and efficient customer service.

Every year, the Environmental Health Department at the County of Santa Cruz publishes a Water Resources Management Status Report. Some of the 2021 takeaways were rainfall was half of the average for most of the county, there are still ongoing efforts to rebuild damaged water systems from the CZU fire and all three Groundwater Sustainability Agencies in the county met important milestones.
