Starting a new year

Embracing my chaos

I have been struggling to get started this year, but I think I’m starting to make progress. Last year I tried to be more consistent in the way I worked with a nice timetable for each day so that within a week I would make, photograph and list new items. What actually happened was that I was consistently on the back foot because if something came up on one of the days of the week (something always did) I then didn’t have the prerequisites done for the following days.

I therefore decided to abandon that plan and just get some of the outstanding things from last year finished so I could start fresh this year. I have discovered that I work better in spurts (for example making a whole batch of jewellery rather than trying to do a couple pieces each week). So I’m going to work on a new plan, perhaps more like a monthly or quarterly cycle and see how that goes.

In the mean time I have photographed several pairs earrings that have been waiting for months so that I can finally make them available for sale. I have chosen a small selection that I will keep for my newsletter subscribers to have first dibs on.

These earrings are priced at £30 (this includes free UK postage) and feature my handmade polymer clay beads. The hooks are either hypoallergenic niobium or sterling silver. Please email me if you are interested or have any questions about dimensions, or postage costs elsewhere etc.

Indigo Studs

This is the last colour palette of stud earrings that I designed last year. I'm planning to get them listed in my online shop this weekend.

Nearly Finished

I started this design before Christmas with the intention of using it as a Christmas card. Obviously I didn't get it finished in time, but I continued work on it during my stream this week. This is a 'sketch' version that I put together digitally. The final step is to physically cut out the monoprinted papers I made and stick them together to create the final collage.
