SNB - JDI Negotiations Update


SNBFPMB and JDI have recently been notified by the New Brunswick Forest Products Commission that a conciliator has been selected to facilitate further negotiations between the two parties. Further updates will be provided as this process unfolds.
 

COVID-19 Restrictions at Level 3


Since the beginning of the pandemic, the SNB Marketing Board office has limited public access to the front entry of the building. With the province going into level 3 restrictions at midnight January 14th, 2022, there were even greater restrictions on many businesses such as gyms, spas, entertainment centers and restaurants. Retail and business establishments are required to limit capacity to 50% and encourage curbside pickup where possible.

For those owners and producers that prefer not to enter the office, SNB Marketing Board does offer direct deposit services. Clientele that prefer not to enter the office, but would still like to pick up payments, transportation certificates, or drop off documents, can call ahead (506-433-9877) and staff can place / pick up your documents between the two sets of doors at the front, main entrance.

International Vaccination Requirements for Truckers


Trucker vaccination requirements are still in effect as of January 22, 2022. Further news articles have shed light on the miscommunications of whether or not Canadian truckers were exempt, which relates back to the Public Health Agency of Canada. More on this article can be found here

Local woodlot owner Charlie Neill of Springfield, N.B. talks about his 77 years of experience in the woods starting when he was just 15 years old. Charlie was the 2013 recipient of SNB's Woodlot Owner of the Year. In this interview he talks about the founding of SNB including him and 18 other members, and how forestry practices over the years have developed.
