If you do nothing else this weekend, read this fascinating article about Astronomer and Carnegie Mellon University lecturer Diane Turnshek. She’s also an author and an activist, and she’s currently leading the way for Pittsburgh’s new Dark Sky ordinances, which you can catch up on here. (NEXTPittsburgh) 🍿 Tom Hanks is heading back to Pittsburgh to film another movie. He’s playing the lead in the U.S. adaptation of a 2015 Swedish film, “A Man Called Ove,” which is also an international best-seller. Filming is set to start in February and much of it will take place in Bellvue, according to the Post-Gazette. The last movie Hanks filmed in Pittsburgh was “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.” (KDKA / TribLive) 🎟 “Gay Wrestlemania.” That’s how Enjoy Wrestling ring announcer Meg Fair described this weekend’s match. The Pittsburgh-based independent wrestling promotion company will present Striking Distance at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale tomorrow at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25, and proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test is required. (🎨: Haley Weaver / The Incline) As citizens of Pittsburgh, there are a lot of laws we are supposed to follow. But what if there was a completely separate list of rules that all yinzers should know about — and what if they weren’t actually written down anywhere? Sounds crazy, but a few years back, our Facebook friends came up with plenty of unspoken rules that keep Pittsburgh in line. We sifted through all 50+ of them and created this illustration that went viral in late 2019 with a lot of love, a little hate, and a bunch of additional ideas. In the love category, our favorite comment came from @fooduzzi, who said, “I literally cannot love @theinclinepgh’s posts more. They remind me that being a Pittsburgher is weird. But I love it. #pittsburghproud” As for hate, there was a lot of anger over the parking chair. Read about it in the comments, if you dare.
