FACILITATOR' S MESSAGE

The pandemic continues in full force.  Hopefully,  the case numbers will soon start on a downward trend.  In the meantime, there are some resources available to help keep us safe (see below).

Just because we can't gather in person, doesn't mean we can't connect in meaningful ways.  Please reach out to a neighbor who might enjoy a phone conversation or a virtual cup of coffee.

I have high hopes that spring will give us ample opportunities to connect in person. Stay tuned!

RAVE Rockville is currently working on providing in-depth leadership and board development workshops for established villages. Expert consultants will provide important insight and strategies for some organizations' greatest challenges. RAVE is working in conjunction with Montgomery County, Suburban Hospital and Fairfax County.  Look for details to come. Tentatively, the training is planned for mid-February.

NEWS & INFORMATION
 n95 mask distribution

Montgomery County residents can pick up free, adult-sized N95 masks at 19 Montgomery County Public Libraries branches beginning Friday, January 21. Along with getting COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots, wearing a well-fitting mask in indoor public settings or in crowds is important protection from the virus.

Volunteer Opportunity

Help a Neighbor in Need!

There are opportunities to volunteer to clear snow for those who may not be able. Many seniors depend on the help of volunteers. Call the Senior Center to be paired with a senior in need. 240-314-8810.

Interfaith Works Needs You!

Last year, the Clothing Center distributed $2.5 million worth of clothing and household goods to 6,698 clients. They rely heavily on volunteers to sort clothes on site. All volunteers are required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test administered in the past 72 hours. All staff members at the Clothing Center have been vaccinated

Those interested in volunteering can contact:  Miranda Marks, Volunteer Coordinator – mmarks@iworksmc.org.
