Yesterday, I watched an emergency press conference where leaders representing frontline workers in health care, long-term care, education, and other sectors sounded the alarm about the unprecedented public health crisis facing Ontarians right now.

The situation is terrifying. Just read this devastating account by one GTA nurse.
Like so many of you, I am truly worried about whether our health care system can survive the growing pressures caused by the Omicron wave, on top of years of government cuts, underfunding, and neglect.
With COVID infections spreading like wildfire, we simply can’t wait for the June election. The crisis is now and getting worse with each passing day.
That’s why I’m joining with frontline workers, and Leader of the Opposition, Andrea Horwath to push the Ford government to act now:
● Recall the legislature for an emergency session
● Repeal Bills 124 and 195, two laws that have driven thousands of health care workers out of the system
● Legislate a minimum of 10 permanent employer-paid sick days
● Hold an emergency summit of all stakeholders in the health care system
● Require health care and educational institutions to provide airborne precautions; and
● Launch an emergency public health campaign

And on Saturday, January 22 at 1:00 p.m., you can deliver the same demands to Doug Ford directly in a province-wide online phone action. Click HERE to sign up and learn more about the action.
I hope you too can join and will bring a friend.
