Tuesdays at 5:30 PM: Online Yoga with Valerie Sonnenthal of Peaked Hill Studio.

Peaked Hill Studio yoga is designed so we can live better and longer lives.  It’s all about biomechanical health or freedom of movement working through chronic pain & injuries, general aches & stiffness, and is designed for all body types, all levels of experience, and can be modified to fit all conditions. Class moves at a slower pace allowing you to connect to the natural rhythm inside your body, creating a deeper connection. Using gravity and the floor the body can adapt without over demand. Many poses are floor-based to allow our joints to read information that connects the nervous system to the changes happening while allowing the tissue to repattern. If you can't get to the floor, you can use your bed, a sofa or chair.
Props or equivalent: 1 yoga mat, 1 strap, belt or scarf, 1 bolster, different pillows or mat (can be rolled in a blanket), chair or foot stool if needed.
Valerie Sonnenthal, owner of Chilmark's Peaked Hill Studio, just completed another 300 hour Kaiut Yoga Teacher training bringing her to 900+ training hours. She has been studying in the last year with Revolution in Motion creator Dr. Edythe Heus, has just started a nine-month Trauma Healing training, writes the Chilmark Town Column for the MV Times and is a member of the Cleaveland House Poets.

Wednesday, February 9, 6:00: The Babysitter: My Summers with a Serial Killer. With author Liza Rodman and Jennifer Jordan.

Growing up on Cape Cod in the 1960s, Liza Rodman was a lonely little girl. During the summers, while her mother worked days in a local motel and danced most nights in the Provincetown bars, her babysitter—the kind, handsome handyman at the motel where her mother worked—took her and her sister on adventures in his truck. But there was one thing she didn’t know; their babysitter was a serial killer.

Though Tony Costa’s gruesome case made screaming headlines in 1969 and beyond, Liza never made the connection between her friendly babysitter and the infamous killer of numerous women, including four in Massachusetts, until decades later. Haunted by nightmares and horrified by what she learned, Liza became obsessed with the case. Now, she and co-writer Jennifer Jordan reveal the chilling and unforgettable true story of a charming but brutal psychopath through the eyes of a young girl who once called him her friend.
