News from Pastor Kim
1/25/22
Greetings Friends!
Thank you to all who have been praying for wellness for Steve and me. We seem to have come out the other side of our brush with COVID relatively unscathed, except for some residual coughs. Our church families - Hope, Welcome Corners, and Green Street - have been a blessing during this time, personally and professionally. While being struck with the virus caused us to have to cancel our vacation to the south we are extremely grateful to have our “up north” property to escape to for a few days.
Thank you to Pastor Bryce for bringing a message of healing and hope on Sunday the 23rd. This coming Sunday, January 30, will be YOUR opportunity to share how you have been touched by God’s healing Word. Join us in person at the Hope building at 11am or online (Facebook @HastingsHopeUMC) to share your favorite Scripture passage and hear others’ favorites.
Love God! Love Others! The End!
~Pastor Kim

"This is my prayer: that your love might become even more and more rich with knowledge and all kinds of insight. I pray this so that you will be able to decide what really matters and so you will be sincere and blameless on the day of Christ. I pray that you will then be filled with the fruit of righteousness, which comes from Jesus Christ, in order to give glory and praise to God."
Philippians 1:9-11 CEB

WHO HAVE YOU TOUCHED?
I have been praying for a friend's first Grandchild long before he was born on Thanksgiving Day of 2021. This little baby had been a dream for so many years. GOD'S TOUCH. When he arrived, he had so many medical issues. I asked for prayers from everyone I knew, added him to prayer groups and prayed for him often throughout each day. Within days surgeries began, including open heart surgery. This little fighter came through. GOD'S TOUCH. A condo was donated to the parents for free by a complete stranger so they could stay close to the hospital, meals were delivered, cards were written, nurses became friends. GOD'S TOUCH. Last week, for the first time since he was born, he went home. He needs to rest and gain weight for the next round of surgeries. Again, GOD'S TOUCH. I still pray as much as I always have for him, and I also thank God for his HEALING TOUCH in all of this. I’m also so thankful for all of the others who TOUCHED this family. They have forever been changed by the kindness of strangers. I have also been witness to a unexpected ripple effect that happens when others come together to help those in need. GOD'S TOUCH. Who can you touch and be a blessing to?

As God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Hope Church has supported five missionary families through our FAITH PROMISE giving for many years. Any monies received by the church that indicate they are for FAITH PROMISE are sent to our supported missionaries monthly. On behalf of our missionaries we thank you for continuing to give to FAITH PROMISE!
In addition to the FAITH PROMISE missionaries, we support a young woman, Faustine (Ghana), through World Vision and a child, Chandu (India), through Child Fund. Donations to these missions should be noted as World Vision or Child Fund on the offering envelope or on the “other” line when giving electronically.
