<<Salutation>>,

The pandemic is still giving the exhibition industry a hard time: A large wave of trade fair cancellations and postponements from the first third of the year into later months is once again washing across the land. However, preparations have not halted: The venues remain firmly anchored in their local communities and are being even better connected.

Growing luxury lifestyle portfolio through acquisition

Nearly 1,000 boxed lunches from CES have been donated to local Las Vegas food banks by Sodexo Live!, the hospitality partner to the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). Food recovered from the tradeshow was provided to community-based social service agencies supporting food insecure individuals throughout the Las Vegas area, including the Salvation Army of Southern Nevada and Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Henderson, along with juices and soft drinks. "Much of the perishable food product was the result of the show shifting its schedule to end a day early, and the food donation was a good way to draw a positive from the situation and give back to the local community", said Sodexo Live! Regional Vice President Steven Potts. "Our locally-based team always jumps at any chance we get to do something positive like this, and we're thrilled that the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) and Consumer Technology Association (CTA) helped make it so seamless."
"We are grateful for our longstanding partnerships with Sodexo Live! and CTA", said Brian Yost, chief operating officer, LVCVA. "Tradeshows like CES are vital to the Las Vegas destination and charitable donations such as this demonstrate how they leave a lasting legacy in our community." (kf)

For Nicolas Trentesaux, the event will be no less than "Ali Baba's cave for all the professional food lovers eager to discover newfood treasures." He should know. He is the general manager and director of Food at Comexposium, Paris. The French organiser is bringing a spin-off of its Gourmet Selection to Germany and will host it on April 4 and 5, 2022 in Hamburg under the name of Gourmet Discovery. The new B2B fair is intended to offer an "amazing range of European food products", from gourmet delicacies to specialty drinks, to the most amazing artisanal cheeses. Comexposium is positioning its first trade fair in Germany as an exclusive B2B event for selected sales channels, delicatessens and the gastronomy trade. Around 200 exhibitors and 2500 visitors and a strong media presence are expected at the first edition. Gourmet Discovery will be held along the banks of the Elbe: in shed 52 in the Port of Hamburg. "Finally, as proof of our concept's success, Gourmet Selection will be going abroad for the first time in 2022, with the launch of a version that is tailored to the German market. This new annual event is the adaptation to the German market of a winning concept with a short, efficient format, offering a range of high-end products to a targeted audience", said Chantal De Lamotte, event director. Partner for out of home advertising

The Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC) has entered into a partnership agreement with the Omani out-of-home advertising firm Mubashir, thus offering local and international brands an opportunity to expand their visibility via indoor/outdoor advertising solutions within the OCEC Precinct. The project will be delivered in three phases. The planning and site inspections have begun, and the project's phase 1 installation is expected to be completed by Q3 2022. This first phase will provide a combination of indoor/outdoor advertising solutions incorporating both static and digital spaces. Advertising brands will be able to book their space in advance as soon as the networks are finalised and announced. According to the OCEC, Mubashir was selected to manage the project's operations due to their long-standing reputation in the local market for offering premium out-of-home (OOH) advertising solutions. Currently, Mubashir's network consists of over 120 digital screens and billboards across 60 strategic locations throughout Oman. These collectively generate millions of measured impressions per month for advertisers. Speaking about the partnership, Said Al Shanfari – CEO, OCEC, stated, "This new partnership comes in line with the growing market demand in Oman for premium-position advertising space. With OCEC's long list of events scheduled into our calendar for the coming months, the OCEC precinct will cater perfectly to advertisers seeking maximum high-quality exposure for their brands." (kf)
